Tripped over the family dog and Injured my left rotator cuff, etc. while evacuating from the Thomas Fire. Dr. Yau has a great bedside manner, is very compassionate and patiently worked with me during my long and extensive recovery.

Dr. Yau is considered a Saint in our household after all he has done for our little girl. She was in a major limb threatening crush accident and luckily, Dr. Yau was on call that day at Cottage Hospital. He is one of the rare Doctors who has skill AND bedside manner. I hope he has the most success and blessings in life.
I tore my conjoint hamstring muscle completely from the hip and needed surgery to re-attach it. I received the MRI results late on a Friday afternoon. My primary doctor was out of town and I was unable to get a recommendation from the physician I did see. This is a relatively rare injury so finding a surgeon that has performed this procedure before was quite difficult. I spent the weekend researching doctors and I was very lucky to see a review from a previous patient, Monika who had the same surgery the year before. After calling several people for referrals I received recommendations from two Orthopedic physicians and an Anesthesiologist. They all agreed the doctor to see was Dr. Yau in Santa Barbara, California.
I called Dr. Yau's office and got an appointment for the same day! He scheduled surgery for the following week. It has now been five months since the operation and I've been hiking, and exercising as intensively as I did before my accident.
I was 59 when I had the surgery and I'm very glad that I did! Dr. Yau is honest, humble and kind. He is a great surgeon in my opinion. I highly recommend him!
